Go Gaga or Not?

I ordered these Lady Gaga accessories for Halloween but for some reason, I feel like I don't want to be Lady Gaga anymore. I guess because it is the most famous Halloween costume this year so I bet there will be lots of people that will be her. Halloween is tomorrow and I am still undecided on what to be but I have an idea now though.

Playing tennis is a great time

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

I just love to play the game of tennis. It is a game that I have played ever since I was a little kid and still play today. The game of tennis has taught me many things. One, it has taught me discipline, and two it has taught me sportsmanship. Those are two qualities that have gotten me far in life.

I play the game of tennis with my regular tennis partner, my older brother. Sure, he is four years older than me, and in my early years he used to be much better than me at tennis, but I have caught up and am able to beat him more often than he likes.

I love to play wherever there is a court to play on. It does not matter if the court is full of weeds, or if the net sags down a little or a lot. It does not matter if the court has cracks all over it. If there is a free court to play on, then I am playing on it.

Another reason that I love to play tennis is that I can stay in shape doing something I love. This is great for all the extra energy that I need in my daily life. But, before I go to play tennis, I set my home security system (HERE for more information) to keep my home safe.

If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

Have you had the experience of singing part of a song the whole day because your mind got stuck in it? All I did almost the whole day today is to listen to Beyonce's songs because I really like her voice and her moves and aside from that, she is so pretty and sexy. The line "If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it. Wha-oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh" got stuck on my mind and I felt like I was a broken record singing those lines over and over again hehe.

Women love rings. Whether it is gold, silver, platinum or fashion rings. Rings are one of the accessories that most women love to have. I remember when I was single, all I've been dreaming of was to find the right man and that man will propose to me with an engagement ring while we are having diner together. Yeah! yeah! I lived in a fantasy when I was single hehe. Engagement rings are traditionally worn by women and also, engagement rings are symbol of women dedicating themselves to the men they are about to marry. Next of having engagement ring is the wedding ring. Wedding rings are symbol of a union of two people. It was the most amazing day of my life when my husband put the wedding ring on my finger on our wedding day. It was the most happiest day of my life that I will never forget.

Preparing for Halloween

I finally got the Halloween accessories I ordered online at www.costumesupercenter.com yesterday. I ordered it last October 15th and they told me that I'll get the item on the 20th. Instead of getting it on the said date, I got it the next day. I actually thought that it was lost and I was already about to call them yesterday (October 22nd) but good thing that I saw the package in our front porch when I woke up.

I opened the package and I was happy about the items I ordered so I didn't get upset in spite of receiving it late, anyway, it was only one day late. I didn't ordered a costume because I don't really wanna dress up on Halloween but I will going to "be somebody" on Halloween hehe. Oh well, this will be the first time that I will go trick-or-treating because I have to, for my son.

My Brand New Body

Guest post written by Marc McGee

I’m 65 and feel like I’m in the prime of my life—and it feels great. It all started a few months back when I was up late one night watching TV. One of those crazy infomercials came on for yet another exercise system—but this one caught my attention, P90x. Honestly, the advertisement wasn’t that different than any other that I’d seen, but something inside me told me to give this a try since I’d been feeling a little sluggish then.

So I ordered the set and I’m now in week 7. I only have a few more weeks to go on the program—and I’ve enjoyed it so much, I think I might start up for another set! I’ve been feeling so good about myself, I even decided to go to miracle ear, where I splurged on a new set of digital hearing aids.

They feel so much better than my old set, which makes me feel even more like a million bucks. What’s next? Maybe I’ll be one of those guys you see on TV, running a 10K!

Change of status on my SSN

We stopped by at the SSA office today before we head to the candy warehouse to buy candies for Halloween. There were only few people that were there in the SSA office. I took a number, sat down and waited on my number to called. When my number was called, I went to the one of the tables there and there was the same lady who I spoke with the last time I went there when I applied on my SSN. She was a nice lady. She has this smile on her face every time she ask me a question. She made me swore to tell the truth on every question that she will ask. She asked for my SSN card and my Green Card then asked me three questions: My address, my phone number and my mom's maiden name.

After that my dad-in-law came to me carrying my son Zac. The lady asked me "Are they with you?" I said "Yes, he is my dad-in-law and here is my son". "You have a cute little one" she said. I replied "Thank you." After that, she gave me a piece of paper that says that I should get my updated SSN within a week or two and she handed me the documents she asked awhile ago. I went out of the office with the feeling of excitement of getting my SSN soon hehe.

We went to the candy warehouse afterward and bought bags of candies that we will give away for the trick-or-treaters. We got hungry after shopping for candies so we stopped by to one of our favorite restaurant to eat roast beef sandwich. We didn't get contented in shopping so we went to four different stores to shop for random stuff hehe. Yeah! we love to shop :p

Monggo (Mung Beans) and Tuyo (dried fish)

It was almost 4pm today when I was thinking of what to cook for dinner when the phone rang. It was my Filipina neighbor inviting me to come over to their house because the Monggo (Mung Beans) she is cooking is almost done. I was like "Oh my! I so miss this Filipino dish". So I went there and I smelled the "Tuyo" (dried fish) right away when I entered their house. I said "Mmmmmmm" I love it! Some people doesn't like the smell of it but most Filipinos do.

I was right on time! She just turned off her stove when I got inside their house. We chatted while we were eating Monggo and Tuyo. I really really miss Filipino food and I am glad that I have a Filipina neighbor who cooks and who always invite me every time she cooks Filipino dish. Yay!

Dental Problem

Lots of people are concentrating more of getting medical insurance and neglecting of getting dental insurance. I understand that medical insurance is very important for us to have but what people don't understand is, dental care is also as important as having medical care. Isn't having toothache is a pain that nobody wants? Having toothache makes you not wanting to eat and not wanting to talk. It will also give you headache to the point that you will feel weak and won't be able to do what you are suppose to do.

Ignoring cavity because you can't afford to go to the dentist is also not good as well because cavity can lead into serious tooth problem. If you don't have dental insurance, go find some affordable dental services in your neighborhood. Bright Now is a dental clinic that I could recommend. They have affordable services and they have lots of different locations here in the US.

I once recommended Bright Now to a friend of mine who had bad teeth. She was happy that she went there to fix her teeth. She had lack of self-confidence because of her crooked teeth but good thing that Bright Now fixed her problem and now, she can smile with whole confidence. If you have dental problem, find a dentist now and and make sure that Bright Now is your top priority for dental services.

Thinking of buying tire chain

My husband loves watching the TV show Ice Road Truckers on Discovery channel. As in he watches every episode of it. He said that those drivers are so brave because they drive in Alaska on ice. And they will still drive no matter how bad the weather and how high the ice is. So, I sat down with him while watching that show because I got curious of what he was talking about. I was speechless when I saw how they drove on that mountain of ice plus I can't believe that there was even a female driver. Oh my! she was so brave!

One of the male truck driver had this problem climbing on the mountain of ice. We thought that he won't be able to make it until he put on his tire chain. Tire Chain made his driving on ice pretty easy. He actually made it to his destination with the help of the tire chain.

After watching the show, I talked to my husband because I came up with the idea of buying tire chain for his truck for winter time, because there are times that I am really scared for him driving on ice. We all know that driving on ice is very dangerous so I really think that tire chain will be a very helpful tool for us in driving. I will definitely buy this thing before winter time.

I watched the movie "The Blind Side"

Last night while I was turning TV channels, figuring what to watch. I turned the channel in HBO and the movie "The Blind Side" was on. I always wanted to watch that movie because I heard lots of positive feedback about it. I normally want to watch the movie from the start and will just pass watching the movie if I didn't see the beginning. But last night, when that movie was on, it was already playing for about 15 mins. and I don't know the reason why I still continued watching it. Probably because the movie was really good.

The movie is about this "big boy" who grew up without parental care. He had low scholastic attainments til he met the woman and her family who helped him boost up his confidence and thought him all the things that he was lack of. They dressed him up, provided him his own room and vehicle and they also gave him a professional tutor and at the end, he became legally part of their family. In spite of his low academic school, there is a part of him where he was good at, and that was self-defense. He then joined football team and used was he was good at and became the most popular team player. He was then discovered by different college football team and that is when he became really famous.

This movie was based in true to life story. It is good to know that there are people who share their blessing in life by helping those people who are in need. I also learned that in life, we need to focus more of our inner strength and let that strength help to lift the down part of us. This is a good movie and a must see.

Chilli Cook-Off

When I got home after my 30 blocks walking, my dad-in-law asked me if I wanna go with him on the chilli cook-off. I totally forgot about it til he told me, actually I was the one who told him weeks ago on when is the cook-off hehe. I am not really a fan of Chilli and I only eat it occasionally or when I am in the mood for it. But yesterday, for some reason, I was craving for it so I went to the cook-off with my dad.

The weather was nice and there were lots of people on the cook-off. My dad likes hot and spicy and I am into mild taste so we decided to split and look for chilli flavor we like. At the end of our chilli eating day, we both agreed on the same organization/booth that cooked the best chilli in the cook-off.

Happy Birthday Hubbster!

Dear Hubby,

Today, we celebrate 2 important occasions in our life. First, I wanna greet you Happy Birthday. I love you more than my life, more than my world. I love you more and more each day and that is the most wonderful feeling any woman can ever hope to experience.

Lastly, I want to greet you Happy Anniversary. I remember five years ago, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on your birthday. It was funny because I surprised you that day and you didn't expected me to say "yes" to you on that day and you also told me that that was the happiest birthday you've ever had.

I will love you forever and a day. Thank you for being there, loving me, taking care of me and bringing joy in my everyday life. You are the owner of my heart and will always be.

Mahal na mahal kita.

Love,
wifey

A day in the Apple Farm

I was born and raised in the Philippines where apple trees don't grow, so for me it is a dream come true to pick an apple straight from the tree. Last week, my friend and I together with his husband and my sin went to the apple farm to pick apples. My friend enjoys picking apples so she invited us to go with them for me to experience to apple picking.

When we reached the farm, there were lots of people, specially kids. The woman gave us a bag where we will put the apples that we picked and then they will weigh it to check how much are we going to pay.

The farm was huge and the apple trees were planted in rows according to its kind. I can't count how many kinds of apple trees were there in the farm. The only kind that I can remember there are Fuji, Jonathan, Red Delicious and Mc Intosh LOL! Fuji is my favorite apple since I was a kid. The reason I remembered Jonathan apple is because my friend's husband said it is a good apple so we picked some Jonathans. Red Delicious apples are really really red apples and for you to belive me that there is a Mc Intosh kind of apple, look at the pic I took.
