to reward me for all the long nights I spent at the office since I got
this new job. I recently got promoted and I feel really good about
where I’m going at the company but I wish my boss was a little more
understanding of the fact that I’ve got a child. Sara’s only 4 and I’m a
single parentso
I have to dip out early sometimes and I had to call in sick the first
week of work because her school got cancelled for the day. It’s tough
being in this position but I know I’m providing a better life for my
little girl because of the work I do. I wish I got to spend more time
with her but I know she knows I love her and that she realizes all the
sacrifices I make all go back to her wellbeing. I remember when my mom
used to work and how I thought that was normal – I want Sara to have
that same attitude about her life and whether or not she should choose
to work when she gets older, you know? She deserves that type of choice
for herself.
