Professional carpet cleaning tips

It is Sunday today! I want to start my week with a clean house so I normally clean our house every Sunday. I do laundry, sweep and mop the floor, clean the bathroom, dust furniture, throw all the left overs to the trash can, change bedding and clean the carper floor. So normally, I am tired every Sunday night.

While I was cleaning the carpet floor in our bedroom, I noticed that there was a stain that I can't remove. So I went online to search for professional carpet cleaning tips, followed the tips online, and voila! the stain was gone :) During my cleaning time, I got interrupted when my friend from Austin, TX called me on the phone. She told me that her house has was damaged by the wind this winter and she needs help to fix it. I told her that first, I don't know how to wind repair and secondly, I am here from Indiana which is miles far from where she lives. She just laughed at me. Her husband is in the military and was deployed so she is basically the "man" in the house.

I told her "Why not search over the internet for construction services that could help you?" She replied "How?" I answered "Try to type
wind damages austin or wind storm damage austin. I am sure there will be lots of results you could find". She said "Good idea! Thank you and I will try that tomorrow morning and hopefully our house will be fixed before husband comes home". We hung up the phone and I returned in cleaning our house.

My day today was a little bit stressful because of all the chores I did plus I had to take care of our son. Oh well! at least I could start my week tomorrow with a clean house.

My first Snowman

I promised myself last year that I will make my snowman this winter, and I finally made it! lol! I thought you will just simply pack snow and make 3 big rounds of snowball. I didn't know that you have to roll the snow and form round ones til my dad-in-law told me hehe. So he taught me how to make it and I am the one who designed my snowman. My snowman actually looks a lil spooky to me haha! I guess I will just make a better one next winter hehe. I am happy that I know how to make snowman now, and when my son got big enough to make one, I'll teach him how to :)

Shoes to wear for Spring

We spent our day today at the mall looking for hush puppies shoes I want. I like that brand of shoes since I was a teenager because they make good quality. As we were looking for the shoes I want, I found this sofft shoes that looks pretty neat. I tried it and it was nice and comfortable so I decided to buy it instead.

We got hungry and our son was throwing a fist already because of hungriness, so we decided to eat in a buffet restaurant. I always forget the word "diet" every time I hear the word "all-you-can-eat" lol! I ate my favorite seafood pasta, beef and broccoli, Gen Tzo chicken, grilled cauliflower and desserts. It is hard to fight food temptation specially if you got tired from shopping and you are in a buffet restaurant hehe.

So we went home with a smile on my face because I bought a pair of shoes and my belly was stuffed. The next shoes I want to buy is bed stu shoes. I heard that they make good quality leather boots. I will buy shoes for my hubby for our Anniversary :D

I am on National News!

Hubby and I were watching the news last night and found ourselves on the National news. In this video, Greg was standing next to me while holding our son and next to me is my friend Michelle Magsino Gilbert holding her lil angel Tristan (1:45) At 2:44, Jeff is signing our wooden toy cars. You have to pause the video to see us because it was pretty quick hehe. I was jumping while watching the news and laughing at the same time LOL!

We went to Riley's Children Hospital to visit our friend's son who was sick (he is an angel in heaven now) not knowing that Jeff Gordon (NASCAR Racer) will be there. We were glad to see Tristan in the hospital and seeing Jeff Gordon is a plus plus to us hehehe. He is actually a nice person and I saw how sincere he was in helping sick kids.

Here is the link where you can watch the video clearly. And below is also the same video that I found on YouTube. The vid on MSNBC is much clearer but I also want to thank the person who uploaded this on YouTube.

Cheesecake with Chocolate Ganache Recipe

I visited my mother-in-law who was sick and I came up to an idea to make her something to cheer her up. I knew she loves to eat so I told her that I'll make her cheesecake. She smiled right away after I said that and she said "Yeah, that sounds good" lol! She is so adorable :) Anyway, I just want to share you guys the recipe of the cheesecake I made. I hope you'll like it :)

Cheesecake layered with chocolate and topped with chocolate Ganache

Ingredients:

Crust:
  • 2 cups crushed graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
Chocolate Layer:
  • 6 (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Cheesecake Layer:
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
Chocolate Ganache:
  • 6 (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Directions

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

For the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the cracker crumbs and sugar. Add the melted butter, stirring to combine. Press the crust into the bottom and 1 inch up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 6 minutes; let cool.

For the chocolate layer: Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth, about 1 1/2 minutes total. Whisk in the sugar, eggs, and flour until just combined. Pour into the bottom of the cooled crust and bake for 15 minutes; let cool.

For the cheesecake layer:

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar on medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla and flour until just combined. Stir in the sour cream. Pour the mixture over the cookie dough layer and bake for 1 hour. Remove from the oven and gently run a knife around the edges to release the crust from the sides of the pan. Let cool completely.

For the Ganache: Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth, about 1 minute total. Spread over the cooled cheesecake. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.

iPad Sleeves

Last night, I chatted with my friend online and I told her that I want to spend time with her sometime next week. After minutes of chatting, she told me that her iPad that was given to her by her hubby is not working anymore because her 4 yr old son dropped it on accident on the floor. She was really sad about what happened and can't do anything else but to blame herself from not placing her Ipad in a place where her son could not reach it. She told me that she wants to have another iPad though.Ipad is a very cool gadget. It is very handy and convenient. I also like its touch-screen feature which makes it look hi-tech.

Awhile ago, while I was browsing the internet, I came to this website that sell iPad sleeves. iPad sleeve will protect your precious iPad from scratches and its elegant design will make your iPad more stylish. Since my friend is planning of buying another laptop, I will going to suggest her to buy this so that her iPad would be protected.
