Papers I brought on my USEM interview

Here is the list of the papers I brought on my USEM interview. I know that I am quite over prepared hehe but I just want to be all prepared because you never know on what kind of paper the consular might ask *wink* The best of luck to all the visa applicants!

UPDATE (Mar. 22, 2011):

*You don't really have to Red Ribbon your Marriage Certificate as the NSO Marriage Certificate is already sufficient enough to submit. I actually regret doing that because it was just a waste of money and time.

*During 2007, DELBROS is the courier who delivers the Visa to the applicants. USEM doesn't use them anymore, instead they are using AIR21.

*The reason why I brought blank DS Forms on my interview so in case I made an error in answering my DS Forms then I have a blank form to correct my mistake.

*Don't forget to pay your Visa fee before your interview date or else the guard in USEM won't let you in. Also, write your name at the front OR back of the payment receipt so in case you lost it (crossing my fingers) then noone can claim it.

Mayon Volcano eruption

LEGAZPI, Philippines – Fewer earthquakes have been recorded in the Philippines' lava-spilling Mayon volcano, but magma continues to build up inside and any lull in activity could be followed by a bigger eruption, scientists said Saturday.

A hazardous eruption remains possible within days, and residents who live near the volcano's slopes should not be misled into leaving the evacuation centers, where they spent Christmas, and venturing back to their homes, volcanologist Ed Laguerta warned.

"The number of volcanic earthquakes has gone down, but this is just part of the eruptive cycle of Mayon," he said.

The number of quakes decreased from 871 recorded during the 24-hour period ending Friday morning to 406 recorded during the next 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

Laguerta said instruments showed the volcano remained inflated despite having spilled more than 26 million cubic yards (20 million cubic meters) of lava over the last two weeks. That means the lava being released is being replaced by magma coming from beneath the volcano.

"We are looking at not only at what Mayon is presently exhibiting, because that fluctuates. We are also looking at its past characteristics," he said, recalling that in 1984, a four-day lull was followed by Mayon's sudden, big eruption.

More than 47,000 people living within a 5-mile (8-kilometer) danger zone around the volcano have fled to evacuation centers. But soldiers are still trying to evacuate several hundred residents who have refused to leave their homes despite the danger, said Capt. Razaleigh Bansawan, a military spokesman.

The 8,070-foot (2,460-meter) volcano known for its perfect cone has erupted nearly 40 times over 400 years, sending people packing for months at a time. But never has it happened during the all-important Christmas celebration, when Filipinos gather with family and friends for traditional meals and songs.

Evacuation centers have been the scenes of daily entertainment for the past week as officials try to keep frustrated residents from sneaking back to their homes. Food, clowns, gifts and games brought cheer to evacuees who spent Christmas in the crammed centers.

RepairPal

I know a reliable Chicago auto repair shop where you could ask for help if you feel something wrong in your car while you are driving down the road in Chicago. RepairPal can surely help you if your car needs replacement of spark plug, break plug, timing belt, air filter, and water pump. They have lots of branches in Chicago so they are very accessible because they are all over the state. They can repair different car models such as Toyota Corolla, Ford Taurus, Volkswagen, BMW, Acura and Honda.

I am actually thinking of buying Toyota Corolla next year. I need a family car and for me, Toyota Corolla is one of my candidate. I have read good ratings and I got good comments from people about that car so I am really considering in buying Toyota Corolla next year. Buying a car is not the only thing listed in my to do list for next year, I also want to learn the primary problems of cars.

One of the most common problem in a vehicle that I know is the water pump. A water pump is an important part of the engine cooling system. If you hear noisy sound and if you see a leak from the water pump then you better pay attention to it because faulty water pump may cause the engine to overheat, which can result a serious engine damage.

Washers

One time while my hubby was driving, we passed by a bridge. I asked him, "how do bridges handle all the heavy metals?" He said "Of course, with the help of washers". At first, I didn't get what he was talking about til he explained what washers are.

He said that they don't just use ordinary washers. I thought washers are just ordinary bolts, screws and flat metal, but no, the washers that needs to be used should be high strength washers and extremely made of high enduring materials. He said that washers are not only being used in bridges but there is also Highway Washers, Aircraft Washers, Shipbuilding Washers and Construction Washers. I suddenly looked at him while he was driving and wondered "How did he know all of these?" and all of a sudden I realized that "Oh yeah! he worked in construction before he became a nurse". Hubby also mentioned that Baco Enterprises is the company where to order standard and specialty washers.

Sometimes you'll just be surprised of what your partner knows LOL! Sometimes you'll just be amazed of how things were built. Oh well! I learned something that day and of course I had fun with my hubby :)

I so love JLO and I was happy that she was courageous to perform the dance routine again on Ellen de Generes show this morning :) Her interview with Ellen is funny and oh my! I love her pink dress :)

Dual Flush Toilets

I love watching this certain channel where most of the shows are about people buying properties. One of the couple in the show got my attention. They were looking for a house to buy and their major requirement is that the house should be eco-friendly. I noticed that all the houses that they are choosing from has this Dual Flush Toilets.

In the show, the couple discussed why they want a house that has a dual flush toilet. They said that it will help save water and it would save people money. According to them, toilet repair is also much easier and hassle free with a dual flush toilet. Now a days, you can buy a Dual Flush Conversion kit of which you yourself can install in your toilet. Buying it comes with an instruction manual so you don't need to pay a plumber to install it.

Before, I always thought that being eco-friendly was all about saving electricity and recycling trash. I forgot how valuable water is to our lives and that we should also save water as water is one of our basic needs. We should help our mother nature and think green and start a new green lifestyle.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. While perhaps religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday.

The date and location of the first Thanksgiving celebration is a topic of modest contention. The traditional "first Thanksgiving" is the celebration that occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621. The Plymouth celebration occurred early in the history of what would become one of the original thirteen colonies that became the United States. The celebration became an important part of the American myth by the 1800s.This Thanksgiving, modeled after celebrations that were commonplace in contemporary Europe, is generally regarded as America's first. Elementary school teacher Robyn Gioia has argued that the earliest attested "thanksgiving" celebration in what is now the United States was celebrated by the Spanish on September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida.Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Thanksgiving dinner is held on this day, usually as a gathering of family members and friends

Filipino actor Johnny Delgado passed away

Veteran actor Johnny Delgado succumbed to lymphoma or cancer of the lymph nodes on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1:20 p.m. He was 61.

He is survived by his wife Laurice Guillen and his two daughters, Anna and Ina Feleo.

Delgado, real name Juan Marasigan Feleo, was diagnosed with what was initially thought as colon cancer in 2008. The result of an overlooked biopsy test corrected the findings to lymphoma.

In February 2009, the late actor was reported to have been responding positively to treatments. He last appeared on the ABS-CBN teleserye, “May Bukas Pa,” as Tatay Ben, a kidnapper who enslaves his victims to beg for money in the streets.

The award-winning actor's most acclaimed performances include the film, “Tanging Yaman,” and the teleserye, “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.”

As of this writing, details about his funeral service are yet to be announced.

Zappos

Whenever I think of buying tennis shoes, the very first thing that comes into my mind is the brand, "Nike". I love Nike. They are very comfortable and stylish. My favorite Nike shoe design is Nike Shox. Why? because of the cushy heel it has. My hubby has several Nike shoes too. He walks most of the time while working, doing rounds, and he said that his Nike shoes make him walk and move faster and easier.

I just discovered a great way of shopping for Nike products. Zappos is an online store where there are varieties of Nike products to choose from. Their website is so cool because there are video clips to watch about the products that they are selling. Another reason I like shopping on their website is FREE Shipping! Isn't that great? Few websites offer anything like that. Not only that, they have a 365 day return policy. Wow!

Zappos makes shopping easier, so that is where I'll shop around next time. Actually, I am thinking of shopping for Nike tops or Nike pants next time :).

Pacquiao wins welterweight belt with Cotto TKO

LAS VEGAS – Manny Pacquiao's speed and power were way too much for Miguel Cotto's heart.

Pacquiao put on yet another dominating performance Saturday night, knocking down Cotto twice and turning his face into a bloody mess before finally stopping him at 55 seconds of the 12th round.

The Filipino star used his blazing speed and power from both hands to win his seventh title in seven weight classes and cement his stature as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Cotto took such a beating that his face was a river of red from the fury of Pacquiao's punches but he refused to quit even as his corner tried to throw in the towel after the 11th round.

The fight was billed as a 145-pound classic, and in the early rounds it didn't disappoint. The two went after each other with a vengeance and Cotto more than held his own as they traded punches in the center of the ring.

Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a right hand early in the third round, but he wasn't badly hurt and came back to finish the round strong. But after Pacquiao put Cotto on the canvas with a big left hand as Cotto was advancing forward late in the fourth round, the Puerto Rican was never the same again.

"Our plan was not to hurry but to take our time," Pacquiao said. "It was a hard fight tonight and I needed time to test his power."

Cotto fought gamely but in the later rounds he was just trying to survive as blood flowed down his face and Pacquiao kept coming after him relentlessly. It looked as if his corner was trying to stop the fight after the 11th round, but Cotto went back out to take even more punishment before a final flurry along the ropes prompted referee Kenny Bayless to call the fight to an end.

Cotto's face was swollen, blood was flowing from his nose and his cuts, and he simply couldn't stop Pacquiao from bouncing inside and throwing both hands at will.

"I didn't know from where the punches were coming," Cotto said. "Manny Pacquiao is one of the best boxers I ever fought."

Pacquiao, coming off of spectacular wins over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton, added another one against Cotto, who had lost only once and held the WBO version of the welterweight title. Pacquiao did it in trademark fashion, throwing punches in flurries and from all angles until Cotto began to slow down and then pursuing him relentlessly until the fight finally ended.

The fight will likely set up an even bigger fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., and many in the soldout crowd at the MGM Grand arena began chanting "We want Floyd! We want Floyd" after the fight ended.

"I want to see him fight Mayweather," trainer Freddie Roach said.

Mayweather may have second thoughts after Pacquiao did what no fighter has done before and win a belt in a seventh weight class. More impressive, though, is how he has fought, dismantling opponents despite moving up consistently from 106 pounds to the 144 he weighed for the fight.

The welterweight ranks will be the last ones Pacquiao conquers, though. He said he will not move up any more in weight.

"This is the last weight division for me," Pacquiao said. "It's history for me and more importantly a Filipino did it.

He was so dominant in the later rounds that Cotto was fighting backward most of the way, simply trying to survive. Pacquiao was credited with landing almost twice as many punches — 336-172 — as Cotto.

Pacquiao earned a minimum $13 million, while Cotto got $7 million

Pacquiao was favored, largely off his last two performances in which he forced De La Hoya to quit on his stool and then knocked out Hatton with a huge left hook in the second round. Some in boxing, including Roach, thought Cotto had been slowed by his devastating loss last year to Antonio Margarito and would be further slowed by having to come in 2 pounds lower than his normal weight.

Two nights seems like forever

My poor husby worked 80 hours 2 weeks ago and 80 hours last week when he finally got his day off this whole weekdays (Mon-Fri) but he never enjoyed his off. He got sick from Monday night until Thursday afternoon :(

I was so worried about him and he was all I am thinking of while I was at work. I was like "I wonder if he can eat now", "I wonder if he is feeling better now". Ten minutes before I clock out, I called home to remind dad to pick me up at work when my husband answered the phone and said that "I will pick you up". I was like " Are you sure you are feeling better now?" he said "Yeah, I was already moving around the house while you were gone". I was happy and surprised when he said that. Then he said "I want us to go somewhere tonight so I'll pick you up". He put a big smile on my face when he said that. I told myself "Aww! He will date me lol!" and "oh my! I can sleep with him in our bedroom at last lol!" He didn't want me to be sick so we have no choice but to separate ourselves from each other. He slept in our room and I slept in the couch for 2 days lol! Those two nights seems like forever for the two of us :(

So after work, we did some groceries, shopped for his shoes and winter boots for me and of course, we eat out :) I love spending time with my husband and I always cherish every second that I am with him. I am happy that we both love each other and I am happy that we both find ways on how can we spend time with each other.

Dad-in-laws birthday!!

Yesterday was my dad-in-law's birthday. We had simple family gathering here in the house. My sis-in-law baked chocolate cake and I helped her in cooking turkey, mashed potato with gravy, baked beans and biscuits. My husband and I gave him projector as a birthday gift. We bought it last week but hubby was so giddy so we end up giving it to him the day we bought it (which was a week before his bday) LOL!

I am glad to have a dad-in-law like him. I feel like he treats me like one of his daughters aawww! :D so I love him and respect him like my real dad :)

American Car Quotes

Safety is the most important thing you need to think of while you are driving. Aside from seat belts, airbags, alarms and perfect brake, you need to make sure that you are driving with car insurance. Why? simply because to keep you and your vehicle safe.

We don't know on what will happen every time we drive that is why automobile insurance is a must. Sometimes even though you are already a professional driver or a good driver, you still don't know what accident might give to you by the other drivers. Sometimes you'll see drunk drivers, young adult drivers that still needs more driving lesson and some are just reckless drivers. Those are the kind drivers we need to watch out.

Automobile insurance is not really expensive unless you have poor driving record or you are married to someone who has bad driving record. If you have bad driving record, it doesn't mean that you can 't drive anymore or you can't get any automobile insurance. You can improve your driving by enrolling yourself in driving classes. And for you to avail reasonable insurance policy, you might want to scout for agencies that specializes high risk drivers.

Got my H1N1 shot today!

Woohhooo! My husband and I are glad that I already got H1N1 (Swine Flu) shot today. I went to my OB/GYN for my monthly visit and they asked me if I want to have it, I answered "Are you kidding me? Absolutely YES!" LOL! I mean I am very glad that I had it because I know that it is a good prevention for me and for the baby against Swine Flu. Not only that, I feel lucky to have it because I have heard on news that there is only limited supply of it.

In regards with the baby, I am 32 weeks preggy now and my fundal height is 31. My OB said that 31 is normal, sooo yiipeee! :D I gained 2 lbs from my last visit (2 weeks ago) which is a good weight gain according to her. I also told her about the contraction I am getting once every hour. She said that that is normal as my uterus is getting ready for my near delivery BUT she also told me that I should call them in case I had 6 to 8 contractions within 2 hours. She was also glad that I don't have swelling (arms and legs) at all :) Now, there is one more test that I have to pass, the Group B strep test which i am scheduled to get on my next visit.

Camelback Displays

There are things that you need to learn when considering starting up a business for exhibit shows. You need to learn how to sell your products and learn how to advertise. Exhibitors usually use trade show booths to showcase their products, services and information. This is an effective way of advertising to the customer what your business has to offer.

Now that you already have a show booth, the next thing you need to have are table skirts. What are table skirts? Table skirts are used in trade shows and special events for draping your table in the shows/events. It makes the table show more appealing especially if you need to cover up unattractive tables. Banner stands are also a big help in promoting your business or trade show. Your banner stands should be eye-catching to attract the attention of the customers. If you want privacy walls and crowd control in your trade show then pipe and drape is what you need.

If you want a one-stop-shop for your trade show then you might want to consider Camelback Displays.
They offer trade show and event needs and they are expert in meeting their customer's needs.

Halloween 2009

October 31st - I decided not to carve pumpkin this year, why? because I want to have pumpkin belly instead :D I am happy that everybody loved my idea and even the trick or treaters liked it :)

To my baby Zac: I hope that you are happy on your first Halloween Day! I love you so much.

Nov. 1st - In the Philippines, we usually go to the grave of our loved ones to light up candles, give flowers and spend some time with them. But since I can't do that this year, I decided to just light up candles here in our room (like what I did last year) to follow the tradition and to remember my loved ones who are in heaven now :)

Gold Coins Gain

I was counting the coins in our coin jar this afternoon when I found old coins and coins from different countries. But what caught my attention was the sparkling gold coin I found. I wasn't sure though if it was real gold or not so I became intrigued and used the web to learn more about gold coins.

Eventually I found a site: www.goldcoinsgain.com. They sell and buy gold bullion coins and they also provide information about gold investment. While browsing their site, I came to realize that our gold coin not only carries the value of gold but also the value of coin, which increases with age. the site also actually made me think of investing in bullion. I think I will check out their FREE Gold Guide to learn more about gold investment.

Crib Bedding, webcam and eyeglass

I was happy the whole day yesterday as all the things (webcam and crib bedding) that I ordered online was delivered and I got the eyeglass that I have been waiting for.

My husband and I was so satisfied with the 12pc crib bedding set that we ordered. We bought it in reasonable price plus it was delivered lightning fast hehe. I am sooo happy and excited for our baby :) Here is the pic of the bedding that we ordered.

I am also glad that the 20megapixel webcam that we ordered online came in the mailbox yesterday. The old webcam that we had won't work anymore so we had to buy another one so that my family in the Philippines would see our future baby live on cam. I was able to get my new eyeglass yesterday too and at last! I was able to say bye bye to my old eyeglass hehe. Oh! what a happy day yesterday :D (I know, I know, I am so easy to please LOL!)

BRUCE GERMINSKY REALTOR

One night, my husband and I had talked about moving to a different state. I suggested New Jersey because I heard that there are lots of Filipinos who live there. I also told him that if we would move, I would want our house to be close to public transportation, dining, shopping centers, hotels, banks, recreation, golf courses and to retail establishments. We then decided to browse the internet under New Jersey Real Estate. We then found BRUCE GERMINSKY REALTOR.

BRUCE GERMINSKY REALTOR has commercial, retail and high-end residential real estate in Monmouth County. They also offer Professional & Medical Class A office space. My husband and I were interested in their oceanfront luxury condos, waterfront homes, etc. for an option in buying a home. My husband was also interested in the commercial real estate aspect due to the fact he would also need office space for work.

Tomorrow, our plan (hubby and I) is to contact their office to inquire about retail leasing, amenities and to know more about landlords and tenants.

Joy! Joy! Joy! down in my heart (where?)

They said that a 7 month old baby inside the belly can now hear music and noises so I decided to play some kiddie music to him. So far, I enjoy listening to these songs.

Happy Zac :)

Hubby and I went to see my baby's specialist again today. We arrived at the hospital 15mins before our 8AM appointment and oh my! I was soo sleepy. I am not a morning person so thank God we only need to see his specialist once a month lol!. Like the usual procedure, they checked baby Zac's heart, brain (size and cerebellum), lungs, diaphragm, stomach, arms and legs and of course they focused on his kidneys via ultrasound.

After checking everything, the specialist talked to us and told us that the volume of fluid they found in his kidneys is A BIT higher than last month. This time it is 0.2 higher BUT she said that we don't have to worry because baby Zac's weight got doubled which means his kidney's size is twice than last month. His weight was only 2.5 lbs. last month and now he weighs 4.5 lbs. YEHEY! I guess that also explains why I gained 6lbs this month of October LOL! His ureter is NOT swollen and the Amniotic fluid has just the right amount.

The specialist was happy to tell us that baby Zac is doing better and guess what? She named him "HAPPY ZAC" aww! lol!. The reason why she named him that is because they had a hard time taking ultrasound pics of him because he keeps on moving around my belly (like he ALWAYS does) like he is dancing or getting busy about something hehe!

I am happy about the result of our visit to the hospital today and I hope that his kidneys will get better and better soon :) And oh! baby Zac has some tiny hairs now on his head, sweeeet! lol!

To our baby: Mommy and Daddy loves you Baby Zac AKA Happy Zac :)

Rhinoplasty Information

Rhinoplasty is also commonly called "nose reshaping" or "nose job". Rhinoplasty can change the size, shape, and angle of your nose and bring it into better proportion with the rest of your face. This procedure is not only for cosmetic purpose but it is also use in correcting structural problems with the nose that may cause chronic congestion and breathing problems.

Surgeons who perform rhinoplasties typically have training in either plastic surgery, otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat specialty), or both. Rhinoplasty is a delicate operation, and requires careful planning and meticulous technique. So, if you are thinking of having a nose job, you need to know the preoperative operation and post-operative care to avoid complications.

Before you want this procedure done, think about your expectations and discuss it to your surgeon. The results of rhinoplasty are permanent so you better look for the best surgeon as the end result will depend on the experience and skill of your surgeon.

The good thing about successful nose job is that it can inspire new confidence and/or you can have a good breathing circulation.

Prayer for a sick friend

I have a good friend who is suffering from gallbladder attack. He is a retired man who works as a volunteer in the hospital where I am working. I am praying for him and I hope that he will get well soon. I found this prayer online and I dedicate this to him. Get well soon and bless your heart :)

Dear Lord,
You know my friend so much better than I do. You know his sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with my friend now, working in his life. Let your will be done in my friend's life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, Lord, please help him to see his need and confess. Lord, I pray for my friend because your Word says I should pray for his healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you to heal my friend, but I also trust in the plan you have for his life. Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why my friend has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward my friend. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence. Let my friend know you are there with him through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in his life and also in mine.
Amen

Got my I-693 from the Civil Surgeon via mail

My I-693 arrived today, yehey!. I opened the mail and found another envelope that is sealed with red tape and was stamped "confidential". I assume that this is the envelope that the CS told me that I am NOT suppose to open and it needs to be send together with the rest of AOS papers. Together with the sealed envelope is a personal copy of I-693. Below is a pic of the I-693 package that I got from the CS (I covered my private info with pink highlight) .

His birthday celebration

My husband's birthday was last Thursday (Oct. 8th) but we just celebrated it yesterday as he was scheduled to work on his bday. I bought him a cake and his family went to our house to greet him happy birthday. I think one thing that I can't forget about yester is his niece Alli singing Happy Birthday to him. Alli just turned 3 last Sept. and she is such an adorable kid :)

After the party, my husband and I went out to shop for some stuff and of course we always buy something for our baby. We bought him 5 receiving blankets. My husband is a typical man, he doesn't like shopping AT ALL lol! But he always have energy to go shopping if it is for our baby aww! I think he enjoyed looking and shopping for baby stuff and I find him cute for that. After shopping, he asked me to go eat somewhere. We then decided to eat at Ryan's and I pigged out lol! We both love eating in buffet restaurant specially at Ryans. I took a pic of every plate I had lol! Sorry for the blurry pics as I was hurrying to take those pics because my camera was running out of battery.

I won't wonder if I'll gain more pounds again on my next monthly visit lol! My husband and I enjoyed our day yester. I always love spending time with him and I love how he loves me :)

Gift from Norm :)

I called work this morning to tell them that I can't go to work as I have some sore throat and some cough (which I am thinking some reactions from the flu shot I had yester) when they told me that I have a bag of baby stuff from Norm. Norm is a retired man who is also working as a volunteer in the hospital. After I ordered ice cream cake at DQ (for my husband's bday celeb tom) we went straight to the hospital to pick up the bag and aww! they are full of goodies for the baby :) The bag has a pair of shoes, a teeter, a sleeper, a bib, shirts and oh my! there are plastic clothes hangers too for the baby. You know, I have been thinking of buying those hangers and I am happy that I have 'em now :D I wonder how did he read my mind LOL! I'll call Norm tomorrow to thank him about it. I am sure that the baby is happy and I am sure that he feel loved already even though he wasn't born yet .

I love old folks not because they remind me of my lola (grandma) who passed away but I really think that old folks are cute hehe :D I specially admire those retired people who dedicate their time in helping other people by doing good deeds and giving help to others. May God bless those people and I am sure that there is always place in heaven for them.

Happy Birthday to my asawa!

Yup, it is his birthday today!! YAY! I hope he likes the watch i bought for him :) It kinda sad though as we can't celebrate it today because he is scheduled to work. So we just decided to celebrate it on his off (this coming Saturday). Today is also the 4th year that we became lovers. Aww! I can't believe that it is already 4 years and wow! we are still like newly weds lol! I mean, we are still soooo sweet with each other like newly weds which I am glad that we are :) caz I know some couples that they aren't that sweet anymore to each other after few years of marriage.

Oh btw, I had flu shot today and my arm is a lil' bit sore and not only that, I am also having some cough. They say that it is safe to pregnant women so I decided to get it and they say that it doesn't only protect the mother from influenza but also the baby. I am hoping to get H1N1 vaccine this month too.

Ok! got to go to bed now and sleep because I have to wake up early morning tomorrow. Good Night!

I-693 (medical exam for AOS)

So I went to Civil Surgeon this 1:00 in the afternoon to have my medical done as part of AOS (Adjustment Of Status) requirement. The medical exam was actually pretty quick. They drew blood in me and ask for some few questions like how long I have been here in the US and what visa do I have. As for the Physical Exam, the CS only checked my ears, my eyes, my breathing, my tongue and my reflex. Thank God! it wasn't like the Physical Exam at SLEC that you have to undress (including your underwear) and you'll only wear lab gown LOL! The CS looked at my vaccination sheet from SLEC and he saw that I have to have TD shot and HPV shot. I handed him the proof of my TD shot (that I just had last May,2009) and told him that I already had it. He then looked at it, smiled and said that I am excuse in getting HPV shot because I am pregnant. After that, I told him that I just had TST (TB Skin Test) last Feb. 2009 and asked him if I need to get it again. He said "No, TST result is good til one year." What a relief on my side LOL! I handed him the TST result and my XRAY result stating that I am NEGATIVE in TB :) The CS was actually pretty nice and he looks cool (hindi siya mashadong serious hehe :D). He then fill out the I-693 and he asked me to sign it. He said that he will just send it back to me next week via snail mail.

The medical fee is $259.00 (payment includes HIV antibody, Syphilis screen, TB Skin Test, Physical Exam and the CS fee) PLUS additional payment for each vaccines that I need to have (TD and HPV). But since I already had TST then they deducted $15 plus I don't have to pay for TD shot as I already had it too. So all in all, I only paid $244 :)

I got out from the CS office quarter before 2:00PM and went straight to Blimpie's with my dad-in-law as the baby in my tummy was hungry again LOL! Oh well! at last i am done with my medical and all I have to do next is to compile papers (again!) for AOS.

NOTE: The statement above was based on my experience. Other people might encounter different rates/fees on medical and some CS might require them to redo their TST. I just shared this experience as reference to people who needs to redo their expired medical (like I was).

New booties and socks for the baby!!

Hubby and I were suppose to go to WALMART yesterday to buy pet foods when we decided to stop by at Kohl's first to check out some baby stuff. We found this cute baby booties and socks and my first thought when I found them was "My baby should have them! lol" So I grabbed them right away and went to the counter to pay hehe. I really enjoy buying baby stuff as they are soooo cute. I admit, I am addicted in buying baby stuff :D I know, I know, I have been warned not to buy too much stuff for the baby because they grow fast, but what can I do? It's addictive hehe.

2nd visit to the specialist

Last Monday (Sept. 28, 09) was our second visit to our baby's specialist (I know, I am late in updating my blog hehe). We finally met our baby's Urologist (after they canceled our Sept. 21st sched). At first, they performed ultrasound to the baby and checked his kidneys including his heart, lungs, brain etc. It was funny as our baby was kicking and was so active on during the ultrasound. Maybe he was thinking "What do you guys doing on my mommy's belly?" or maybe he was so excited because it is time for us to see him again (Aww!). I so love seeing our baby moving around my belly. The feeling is so indescribable and I want to gigil him every time i see him on screen hehe.

After performing the ultrasound, the Urologist talked to us (hubby and me). He said that the amount of fluid they found in both of his kidneys has still the same amount as last month (6-7mm). He said that our baby seems be a healthy one (except his kidneys of course!). He also said that we shouldn't worry much as 80% of this kidney condition heals itself once the baby is born. But of course they still need to monitor the baby's kidney every month and the urologist also told us that the baby will going to have 3 more ultrasounds once he is born. One of the ultrasound that he mentioned is KUB (Kidney Urine Bladder). Our Urologist is working side by side with Perinatologist (An obstetrician who practices maternal-fetal medicine for patients with high risk pregnancies).

I am 7 months pregnant now and i'll be able to hold our baby few months from now. Oh my! I really can't wait :D BTW, here is pic of me taken in the restroom before I see the specialist lol!

I know, my belly doesn't look like 7 months. Most of them think that I am only 4-5 months preggy. But what can I do? I eat A LOT but gains only few pounds. I guess it is because of my metabolism. The picture below is the latest ultrasound pic of our baby :)

APL de AP

I am so proud of my kababayan (fellow Filipino) APL de AP. He shows nationalism even though he is already a famous member of the band BEP (Black Eyed Peas). He even made a song to promote tourism in the Philippines. Go Kabayan! Make us all proud :)

A blastful one year

I arrived here in Indiana Airport at exactly 8:05PM of September 16th 2008. In few hours from now, I'll be one year here in the US :)

I remembered my lay over in Japan. I spent 2 hours waiting on my second flight going to Chicago with 2 other Pinays that I met in the airport. They were nice to me and I enjoyed our conversation. At my POE (Chicago O 'Hare), the Immigration officer who interviewed me didn't ask much questions about my papers. When I reached Indiana Airport, I stopped by first at the nearest restroom to fix myself as I want to look and smell good for him after the 24 hours flight. As I was walking going out of the airport, my heart was beating so fast as I was excited to see my hubby. I immediately saw my husband holding a can of Mt. Dew. We ran towards each other and we excitedly hugged and kissed.

My one whole year here in the US was a blast. I met my all my in-laws, I love my nieces, nephews and the rest of my hubby's relatives, I am working as a volunteer in a hospital (love doing it), met new Pinay friends, experienced US holidays and festivals, became more familiar with American foods and most of all I am pregnant to our first child :)

To my asawa: I am blessed of having you in my life and I enjoyed every moment I spend/ing with you.You are an answered prayer and I am looking forward for more more years of spending my life with you. I love you so much and I never regret moving here in the US with you. *tsup* *tsup*

Boooo!! for Kanye!!!

Sheesh! I can't believe how rude Kanye was when he interrupted Taylor Swift at the VMA Awards last night. I mean, I don't understand why he did that to Taylor who deserves to win the award.

And how nice Beyonce was when she gave way to Taylor to finish her speech :)

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

My first Pinay gathering :)

Last 2 days ago, me, together with my pinay friends Ailene and Zenny went to Frankfort to meet 2 more Pinays, Reden and Jessica (Zenny's sisters). We traveled an hour and ten mins to get there. We had a great time together. We had chicharon as our appetizer, nilagang manok and lumpiang shanghai for ulam and cassava cake and leche flan for desert :D Syempre there is homemade pandesal with chicken, egg, potatoes and carrots inside as their pabaon for us.

Photobucket

It is nice to be surrounded by Pinays here in the US as you'll feel like you are in Pinas. I like hanging out with them and I wish they (Reden and Jessica) live closer to our neighborhood. Syempre pa, mawawala ba ang picture picture sa mga Pinay? hehe.

Hydronephrosis

My OB/GYNE told me and my husband that our baby has hydronephrosis so they sent us to see a specialist last week. According to the specialist, instead of the fluid coming out of his uterus, there are some fluid that goes back up in his uterus due to an obstruction and as a result, fluids get stored in his kidneys. They measured the amount of fluid in his kidneys and it ranges from 6-7cm, according to the doctor, we don't have to worry that much as long as the fluid is NOT more than 10cm. So now, I have to see specialist (aside from my OB/GYNE) once a month to monitor the baby's kidneys through ultrasound as there is a tendency that the amount of fluid might get higher (i hope not) or lower. I am glad though that a specialist from Riley's Children Hospital will monitor the baby next month. They say that doctors from Riley's are good so at least I am a bit at ease knowing that the doctor that will monitor my baby is in good hands.

As a mom-to-be, it is sad to hear things like this. I wish that I am the one who is carrying my son's problem as I am old enough to say on what is wrong in me unlike a kid that will just cry and cry and couldn't say what's hurting him :(

My son's heart, brain etc. are all normal and we are thankful about that. The truth is he was so hyper the whole time we were at the specialist that's why the technician was having a hard time taking his ultrasound pics because he moves alot lol! The doctor said that that is a good sign :) My husband and I were happy to see our baby touching his ear and stretch his leg in my belly. Aww! that was so precious to see. It is nice to see on what is the baby doing in my belly hehe.

2nd sneak peek

Last Monday. I had my second ultrasound of our baby boy and I was happy to see him moving around inside my belly. I saw him poking my tummy lol! and it feels so great seeing him covering his face with his hands. It seems like he wants to play peek-a-boo :D As of now, his kicks are getting stronger and stronger everyday but I would rather feel his strong kick than not to feel him kicking at all. I can't wait to hold him in my arms, change his diaper and tickle his belly. And o yeah! I was able to saw his face this time :)

Kick me baby one more time :D

Oh my! I felt my baby's kick today (Aug. 6, 2009, 10PM) I woke up my sleeping husband and let him feel my belly as I wasn't sure at that moment if its the baby kicking hehe I am a first time mommy-to-be so malay ko ba sa feeling ng sipa ng baby hehe As of now, it is easy to feel the baby's kick when I am laying down kaya feeling ko ayaw ko ng tumayo sa bed lol!

3 AM

This past few days i keep on waking up around 3 AM nuking in the kitchen for something to eat. And mind you, I just don't eat snack but I make meals lol! I make rice and porkchop and sometimes I eat steak. There are lots of changes in me when I get pregnant specially in terms of eating. Before, I use to like putting egg in my ramen noodles, but now that I am pregnant, I can't eat my ramen with egg. I love cheese, but now, I don't like cheesy foods like mac and cheese. Somtimes when I am doing some things, I'll feel all sleepy and I'll end up stopping what I am doing and lay down for awhile. Oh well! pregnancy is weird but it is also fun at the same time knowing that we'll have our baby soon :)

Another pain!

Hay! ang hirap pala ng buntis. Nagkasevere constipation ako :crying: Grabe 1AM hindi ako mapoopoo. umiiyak na ako sa sakit so i drink prune juice like i always do kapag constipated ako tas yung asawa ko eh nagalala na rin sa akin. Imagine every 30mins since 1am eh kailangan kong pumunta sa CR pra magpoopoo tas unti lng lalabas.

It's a boy!!!

This morning around 7:30AM, I woke up to pee. After peeing, I felt sudden pain on my lower left abdomen. As in, hindi ako makatayo ng straight sa sakit. So I lay down in bed and told it to my husband (he was awake). Sabi nya magrest daw ako, so nagrest ako but he was worrying about me. He went back to sleep while ako naman ay trying to ease the pain. It was really painful talaga na I can't do the side line position kasi sobra sa sakit. I am the type of person that i'll take the pain na lang instead of taking pain meds as I don't really like taking pills. Sometimes pa nga when my ulcer attacks me eh tinutulugan ko na lang ang sakit. But I can't tolerate the pain this morning, I can't even get up and sit and I was screaming every move I make. Around 9:00AM, I woke my husband up screaming because of the pain. He told me that he will bring me to the nearest hospital (there is no OB/GYN dun kundi ER lang) so he tried to lift me up pero I screamed again kasi sobrang sakit at dapat ay 2 ang bubuhat sa akin so he dialed 911 and grabe! within 2 mins ambulance came. Two big guys lifted me gently to the gurney and wala akong nafeel na sakit sa pagtransfer sa akin. They checked my vital signs and they are all normal pati yung oxygen level ko, 98% daw.

Sa hospital, they gave me pain killer shot saka isa pang shot pangpakalma ata yun? basta after few secs lang na tinurukan ako eh nawala yung pain tapos I felt dizzy and weak. I can't even open my eyes pa nga kasi dahil sa shots pero I can hear on what's happening around me (super na groogy ako at na high sa gamot lol). After an hour (ata) kinuha yung urine sample ko.

Interview Prayer

Loving Heavenly Father,

You know all my worries and fears regarding this interview! You are a
most loving heavenly Father and You understand my innermost feelings!

Yes Lord! I am so nervous thinking about the outcome of this interview.
You know my limitations Lord, but Your word says that Your strength is
enough in our times of weakness. I admit that I have no wisdom or
knowledge of my own. But I have confidence that I can do every thing
through Christ who strengthens me. I do not know what is in store for
me but I know that my future is in the hands of Lord of Lords, Who has
made me. So Lord be with me and help me to find grace in the sight of
the concerned authorities. I need not be afraid of men because I have
the Lord Almighty beside me. Please go before me and let me answer the
questions boldly and intelligently. Please remove all the unwanted
fears and worries and fill me with courage. Let me never be put in
shame.

I thank You Lord for listening to my supplications and filling me with Your peace. In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

Morning Sickness

This morning around 10:30AM was my first morning sickness. I was hoping that I won't have it as I am already now in the 7th week of my pregnancy. I went to the doctor last Tuesday and the nurse said that I gained 1 lbs and 6 oz. I actually thought I gained more than that hehe. Aside from morning sickness, I am always constipated waaahhh! and I am very picky in eating foods :( and my smelling powers is getting more sensitive lol!

My arm is still sore as I had Td shot last Tuesday :( I can't lift my arm yesterday and until now but I feel much better now than yesterday. It always make me smile everytime I think of I am pregnant, that there is a baby in my belly and I can't wait to hold our baby in my hands soon :) I am loving pregnancy as of now inspite of the weird changes in me hehe.

I get myself busy nowadays by reading articles about pregnancy and baby stuff, thinking of baby names and canvassing for pregnancy clothes and baby stuff. YAY! I can't believe that I am gonna be a mother soon!!! :D

I AM PREGNANT!!!

My hubby and I are both happy that I am now pregnant. We both want to have a baby and we have been trying for few months already and we are so thankful that GOD answered our prayers now. Today is my birthday and this is the best birthday gift I received ever. Last April 1st, I prayed and told God that I hope my birthday this year is not as bad as I had last year. We rushed my dad in the hospital last year on my birthday and he got hospitalized for 4 days :( I didn't asked for a specific gift to HIM but I am glad that HE knows what my heart really desires :) God is so good :)

How I assembled my K3 documents

I created this post in return to those people who helped me in my K3 visa processing plus I got messages from people asking on how I assembled my papers in order. Here is a vid of how I did it. ENJOY!! :)

PICTURES - We have tons of pictures together in a nice album but the thing is, I have heard from the previous interviewees that the Pre-screener's and the Consulate's windows are small, so what I did was I pasted mine in bond papers and I wrote caption in each picture plus I also put pics in a small album (the ones that is free from the photo service whenever you'll print pics from them). This is how it looks like.
pictures
CHAT CONVERSATIONS - Hubby and I have been chatting since 2005 and so we have LOTS of chat logs. What I did was I only printed 2 chat logs per month since i can not print all those tons of conversation hehe. Our conversation per day ranges from 20 up to 27 pages (if you'll transfer the chat logs in MS WORD).Since i am saving ink and paper, what i did is i smaller the font and put 2 columns :D I also did screenshots of our conversations per month (in case they want to see if we chat daily).

EMAILS - We seldom email each other since we chat everyday so I only printed out whatever we have hehe.

SNAIL MAILS - Like emails, we seldom send snail mails to each other. I only send him cards if there is a special occasion (anniversaries, birthdays and such).

PHONE CONVERSATIONS - I use PLDT Phone cards since it is the cheapest way i know on how to call my hubby in the US and on the other hand, he is using AT&T in calling me. He kept all his monthly phone bills as we know that it can testify to the Consulate that he calls me everyday (it appears to his monthly bill on how many times and how long he called me on my cellphone).

MONEY TRANSFER - He used Western Union in sending me money for my monthly allowance. Yes, it is expensive but fast and reliable. We don't have any complains to their service except for the high service fee hehe.

TAX TRANSCRIPTS - He requested 2006 and 2007 Tax transcripts from IRS (1-800-829-1040). He got it 11 days after he phoned them and he didn't pay any single cent for it.

W2 - He got it from his employer.

SALARY PAY STUB - He sent me his last 3 pay stubs :)

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT - He fill out the form I-134 and notarized it from his bank and it was free of charge :)

My advice is NOT to fastener or use sliding folder in compiling your docus as you'll have a hard time taking them off once the pre-screener and the consulate asked for the papers one-by-one.
