Siopao

I had successfully made Siopao last night. I had been wanting to make it long time ago because it is one of my hubby's favorite Filipino food. Four of my Facebook friends posted pictures of Siopao that they made and that inspired me more to make it. I found the recipe online and I was happy about the result of the taste. Wrapping the filling in dough was the toughest part but everything else was easy (I followed the instructions on the video).

I bought New Digital Camera from Blogging!

Last year, I told myself that before the year ends, I want to buy something from the money I got from blogging. I thought of buying new digital camera since my old digital camera need to be replaced. My old camera is still working good but the clarity of the pictures is not as good as my new digicam. This Sony Digital Camera that I bought has everything that I am looking for . It is 14.1 megapixel, 3.0" wide screen, touch screen and most of all it has sweep panorama. It's HD feature is a plus plus. I know that my hubby can buy me this, but I just want to buy something out of the money I worked hard for. I so love it!!!

Shopping vs Crowd

When we shopped last Midnight Sale, I could believe how crowded it was. We arrived at the store an hour before the midnight sale hoping that we would be able to buy Christmas gifts and be the first in line. I thought an hour before the sale is already early but I guess not! All the customers in the store was busy walking around and shopping. I could not even walk because of the crowd plus I am afraid that I might ran over someone.

I was actually glad that the store had stanchions and velvet rope in the counter to control the traffic. There were also barricades for the security of everybody. That night, I realized how important crowd control was. Without it, the shopping event would be a total chaos and the store it would be unsafe for all the shoppers.

We got home happy because we were able to buy Christmas gifts to all our loved ones and most importantly, we were all safe against the crowd.

I want to make a snowman

I love Carhartt for women apparel. I actually own some pairs of socks and gloves from Carhartt and I'll tell you what? They make me feel so warm in this winter season. My hands normally get dry because of the coldness of the weather here in Indiana, but wearing gloves makes my hand protected from the cold weather.

I was born and raised in the Philippines so I prefer warm weather, but when I moved here in the US, I always bundle up myself because I don't like cold weather. I love wearing socks Wigwam too, it makes my feet really warm. If I am going to go outside on winter, I will not just wear an ordinary socks, I wear Wigwam socks.

I was wondering on how does mail carriers, construction workers and road workers survive working in the cold weather, so I asked my husband on how those people who works outdoor survive during winter season. He jokingly said "They wear all their clothes" lol! After our laughter, he told me that they wear thermal clothing and work pants so they won't get cold and they can do their job properly.

This is my third winter here in the US and this season, I will build a snowman. I have never built a snowman before and this time I will surely make one and of course, I will bundle up myself so I won't be freezing cold in the snow.

A night with Pinay friends

I spent my night last night with my Pinay friends here in town. We stayed in one of my friend's house and we cooked Chicken Adobo and our all time favorite Leche Flan. It was a night to remember because it was fun chatting with them while we were all busy in the kitchen cooking. There was never ending laugh which made my tummy hurt after hearing funny stories from them.

After eating dinner, we played Wii Sports. My friend and I played the "canoeing" and we both looked so silly paddling. We both had no direction to go lol! It was really funny because it was both our first time to play that game so we both looked crazy paddling so hard to reach the finish line. Of course, I am the winner!! Woohoo! lol! We also played almost all the games in Wii Sport. We played the archer, table tennis, cycling, power cruising, frisbee and swordplay.

I really enjoyed playing the conoeing even though it made my right arm sore after playing that night.

What is an E-commerce?

Ecommerce Planning is something you should have if you are planning to build a website for your business. Not everybody of us know what E-commerce is, E-commerce simply means selling products or services online.

There are many of us who prefer to online shop nowadays because of the convenience it gives to us. I myself loves to shop online because I don not have to drive to the store with my one year old kid and be in line to pay my purchases.

If I am going to put up a business online, I would like to have a professional ecommerce web design for my web page with the help a good web design contractor. I believe that a website is a good investment for a business and with the help of a web design contractor, the website would look more appealing to buyers, and more buyer means more income. Some first timer on ecommerce are afraid to spend money on a website but little they know, after few weeks or months, their investment in the website will help them boost up their income profit. Some thinks that it is expensive to own a website, that is wrong. All you need to do is to look over the internet for an affordable web instructor that would help you in building and designing your website, that itself is the first step for a successful business on the web.

Our family New Year's resolutions

Guest post written by Abigail Waterson

A few years ago my husband got the idea that we should make at least one family New Year's resolution every year together. He said that resolutions are about self-improvement, but that we could work on improving our family as a whole too while we were making resolutions. I thought that he was right, so we've been making one a year since then.

A few weeks ago I looked on the internet to try and find some ideas about what we could do this year. While I was doing that I came across some information about satellite internet providers and found one that I really liked. I decided to check it out and ordered a package for our home internet service.

This year our family New Year's resolution is to eat meals together as a family. Mealtime together is when we all get to pause and catch up with each other and whenever we pick up or bring home food, we tend to go to our rooms and eat separately. Well, no more of that this year, but I think everyone will like this resolution.

Cheers to Tristan!

It was really sad yesterday as it was Tristan's funeral service. I wasn't able to stop myself from crying during the slideshow presentation of his pictures. I just told myself that at least Tristan is happy now in heaven as an angel of God. My friend was actually happy that there were lots of people who attended the funeral of her son, she felt like her son was really loved by all the people who knew him. How could you not love an adorable baby like him?

As much as possible, we want to help the parents of Tristan to ease the pain that they are going through. So we decided to stay at one of our friend's house to have fun, so at least, even for a moment, they would take a break from thinking about their loss.

We cooked "Ginisang ampalaya" and "Tortang Dilis" for dinner. We also sang using Magic Sing and we drank wine. We also watched the Colts game, but apprently, they lost :(

At the end of the night, we all end up with smile on our faces because we all know that Tristan is in good hands now and his suffering is finally over.

Stylish outfit to ring in the New Year

Guest post written by Tina Holland

A lot of the time I don't really put as much effort into my look as I probably could or should. But, for special occasions I really like to put together stylish outfits. That especially goes because I know that people take lots of pictures at events like New Year's Eve parties. So that's why I've already got an outfit picked out from head to toe for New Year's Eve.

Last year in the after Christmas clearance sales, I found all kinds of great clothes, including a cocktail dress for a steal that is perfect for New Year's Eve, so that's what I'm going to wear. I also went online during the Black Friday sales and found some shoes and sparkly tights to match the dress. When I found those, I came across this website www.clearwirelessinternet.net and browsed through it a little bit. After a little consideration, I signed up for one of the internet packages on there.

So I have this really great stylish NYE outfit and a friend's party to go to, so I think that 2011 is going to start off really great.

Easy Oven Baked Cookies

My dad-in-law came home carrying a tub full of cookies. I ate a couple of cookies and I asked him on where it came from. He said that her sister baked it and said "Would you believe that these cookies where baked in those easy oven?". I asked him "What is an easy oven?". He said those are those ovens that were made for kids. I replied " You mean those toy ovens can really bake?" he answered "Yeah".

I thought those ovens are just toys lol! And the cookies that my aunt-in-law baked was good :)

New Year 2010

I miss all the fireworks, abundant food and my family in the Philippines. In our house in the Philippines, we are all busy and excited every New Year's Eve. My mom prepares the food on late afternoon for our "Medya Noche" (New Year's Eve dinner) and when the clock ticks 8:00PM, we will all attend the mass. After the mass, there will be street party, exchange gifts between neighbors, food, music, games and picture taking. The party normally finishes an hour before New Year's Eve.

In our house, after the party, we prepare the table for the Medya Noche. And when the clock hits 12:00AM, we all jump! Yes! We jump! lol! It was a filipino belief that you will grow taller when you jump in New Year's Eve. After few jumps, we will fire the fireworks (if ever buy some) and eat dinner afterwards. One of the most exciting part is,.,.,.,., we have exchange gifts in the house. I so miss the New Year in the Philippines :(
